Sector W is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. This part of the city is very quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially closer to Autoroute des Cantons-de-l'Est. Finally, greenery is prominent in this neighbourhood; the majority of locations within the neighbourhood have reasonably good access to green spaces, such as Refuge d'oiseaux migrateurs des Îles-de-la-Couvée and Parc Léon-Gravel, and there are approximately 20 of them nearby for residents to unwind in. Furthermore, residents will find that there are many tree-lined streets.
Transportation
Cars are a great transportation option in sector W. Parking is generally easy. In contrast, public transit users may experience limited options in sector W by reason of the low service level. Nonetheless, there are approximately 30 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood. Sector W is not very convenient for those who like to travel as pedestrians since carrying out daily needs is occasionally difficult without a car. On the other hand, this part of the city is fairly appropriate for biking.
Housing
Large apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing roughly 40% of dwellings in sector W, while small apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This part of Brossard has a good choice of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and the rest are renters. Most housing in this part of the city was built following the year 2000, during its biggest construction boom.
Services
Property owners in sector W generally have to turn to a vehicle to reach the nearest supermarket. A limited selection of restaurants is available in this neighbourhood. In terms of education, there are only a very small number of high schools in this part of the city and accordingly they can be a very long walk away. Likewise, sector W does not have any primary schools. Furthermore, parents may find it very difficult for their children to reach daycares as pedestrians.
