Transportation

The best method to get around in Shuniah is very often a car. Accessing a parking spot is easy. Many of the houses for sale in this municipality are located in areas that are not very well-suited for people who prefer to travel by foot as running common errands is practically impossible without a car. Shuniah is also not very conducive to bicycling as the topography is not particularly flat, and there are very few bike lanes.

Housing

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Shuniah is an important part of its character. About 30% of properties in this part of Thunder Bay District were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
