South Cambie has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Finding energetic places is easy in this neighbourhood. Although this part of Vancouver is not known for its nightlife, there is an extensive selection of entertainment venues, not to mention that there are often many people around. The noise levels in South Cambie are low, as the streets tend to be quite calm. Access to green spaces is easy in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover.


No matter the mode of transportation, it is simple to travel in this part of the city. This area is very transit friendly by reason of King Edward Station with access to the Canada Line, and a few nearby bus lines. Most homes for sale in this part of Vancouver are located in places that are also very well-suited for walking; running common errands is easy, and various businesses are close by. South Cambie is reasonably appropriate for biking because the bicycling infrastructure is very extensive.


In South Cambie, roughly one third of dwellings are small apartment buildings, whereas the remainder are mainly duplexes and single detached homes. This neighbourhood has a good selection of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About 60% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. The homes in this neighbourhood are quite old, because roughly 40% of its dwellings were built pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.


A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short walk away in this neighbourhood. Likewise, there are approximately 30 restaurants and a few cafes to enjoy in South Cambie. It is also very easy to access a selection of clothing stores on foot. With respect to education, parents and their schoolchildren will welcome that wherever their property is situated in South Cambie, daycares and schools are nearby. Residents benefit from public and private primary schools.
