South Pointe offers a calm ambience and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. This part of Winnipeg is quiet, as the streets are quite tranquil. Finally, public green spaces, including Ken Oblik Parkway, are especially well-spread out and there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in, making them easy to access.


South Pointe is very car friendly. It is very convenient to park, and nearby highways are easy to access from anywhere in this area. However, South Pointe is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is straightforward to find a nearby bus stop from most residences. South Pointe is not very conducive to those who travel by foot as very few common errands can be run without the use of a car.


In South Pointe, about three quarters of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This part of Winnipeg offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the units in South Pointe and 20% are occupied by renters. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood has taken place following the year 2000.


Property owners in South Pointe generally have to turn to a vehicle to do their groceries. In terms of education, this area does not have any high schools or primary schools. Furthermore, there are only a few daycares and therefore they can be a rather long walk away.
