South River is a great village to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. South River is excellent for those who like quiet surroundings, as the streets are generally very calm.

Transportation

The car is very often the best approach to navigate South River. It is especially convenient to come across a place to park, and most houses for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 11. Walking is not very feasible for property owners in South River as running common errands is difficult without a car. This village is also not very conducive to cycling as the terrain is not particularly flat, and South River is home to quite bad bicycling infrastructure.

The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of South River is an important part of its character.
