Spring Lake is an extremely good part of the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area for driving. Parking is quite easy. Many of the homes for sale in this village are located in places that are not very convenient for those who like to get around by walking because almost no daily errands can be run without a vehicle. The bike is a rather poor means of transportation in Spring Lake since the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and the area is not particularly flat.

The predominant housing types in Spring Lake are single detached homes and townhouses. The buildings in this village are very new, because about 40% of its dwellings were built following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s.
