Stony Plain is fairly good for those who prefer quiet areas, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case around the railway line.
Stony Plain is especially car friendly. The majority of properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, and parking is easy. Stony Plain is not very well-suited for walking as carrying out daily needs is challenging on foot.

High schools and primary schools are not especially abundant in Stony Plain, and consequently may require a rather long walk to get to. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found. In addition, daycares are not very abundant and thus may require an extended walk to get to. With regards to eating, a fraction of property owners in this town may have the option to do their groceries on foot in one of approximately 10 stores, while others will have to use another means of transportation.
