Streetsville is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. This part of Mississauga is quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case near the railway line. Lastly, it is very easy to reach public green spaces in the neighbourhood, since there are about 20 of them nearby for residents to unwind in, such as Mullet Creek Park and Turney Woods.

Transportation

Physically active home buyers will be pleased with the pedestrian-friendly character of this area; many common errands can be run on foot. It is also convenient to travel by bike in Streetsville since there are a good number of bike lanes. Streetsville is not especially transit friendly. Nonetheless, there is the Streetsville Station on the Milton Line. There are approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. On the other hand, commuting by car is very convenient in Streetsville. It is straightforward to park.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing roughly half of buildings in Streetsville, but large apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. About one third of properties in this neighbourhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. About 70% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented.

Services

It is a rather short walk to reach primary schools as well as high schools from any location in this neighbourhood. At the primary level, there are both public and private schools. In contrast, daycares are not especially abundant and accordingly not always within walking distance. With regards to eating, it is very often feasible for house buyers in this neighbourhood to do their groceries on foot. Likewise, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a fair number of opportunities, and home buyers benefit from a few cafes as well. A decent selection of clothing stores is also located within a reasonably short walking distance, for instance on Queen Street.
