    The best method to navigate this neighbourhood is usually a car. It is a very short drive to the closest highway, such as Highway 403, from any home in this neighbourhood, and parking is generally easy. Cycling is challenging in Summit because there is a significant amount of slopes, and the bicycling network is quite poor. Traveling by walking is also not very practical for home buyers in this part of the city because running day-to-day errands is difficult without needing to resort to a car.

    In Summit, the majority of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest of the homes are mainly mobile homes. This part of the city also has a good variety of housing size options; it is quite easy to find homes ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Homeowners occupy roughly 95% of the units in the neighbourhood and the rest are rented. About 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were built pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s.

    There are no high schools and no primary schools in Summit. Moreover, daycares are not abundant and accordingly not always within walking distance. With respect to eating, purchasing one's groceries usually demands the use of a car in Summit.
