Summit offers a slower-paced environment. Summit is quiet, as the streets tend to be quite calm - although that is not the case around Highway 403. Access to parks is rather challenging from numerous locations in the neighbourhood since they aren't well-distributed. Still, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to relax in.

Transportation

This area is an extremely convenient part of Hamilton for driving. Nearby highways, such as Highway 403, are particularly easy to reach from anywhere in Summit, and parking is generally easy. Many of the houses for sale in this part of Hamilton are located in places that are not very conducive to pedestrians since carrying out daily needs is difficult without a vehicle. The bike is a rather limited means of transportation in Summit as this neighbourhood has quite poor bicycling infrastructure, and there is a significant amount of slopes.

Housing

The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Summit is an important part of its character. About 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were built pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Nearly 95% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of the city. Likewise, families may consider it very difficult for their children to access daycares as pedestrians. In terms of eating, a vehicle is usually required in this part of the city to reach the closest supermarket.
