Sunnyside has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Sunnyside is quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. This area is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Renters occupy around two thirds of the dwellings in the neighbourhood while the remainder are occupied by owners. Around 45% of properties in this part of Calgary were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.

Services

It is often an option for home buyers in Sunnyside to buy general and specialty groceries by walking. Additionally, thanks to 10-odd restaurants and cafes in this area, there is generally a place to get some food or drink just around the corner. House buyers have access to a fair number of clothing stores within walking distance. Concerning education, primary schools are straightforward to walk to from most homes for sale in Sunnyside. On the other hand, this area does not contain any high schools.
