Due to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets, Switsemalph remains relatively quiet; however there can be higher levels of noise for those who are near the railway line or the airport (Salmon Arm Water Aerodrome).

Transportation

This reserve is very car friendly. It is very convenient to park. In contrast, residents using public transit may find limited choices in Switsemalph due to the service's low frequency. Thankfully, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of this part of the Greater Salmon Arm metropolitan area, although many daily needs can be met without the use of a car. Getting around by bicycle is also challenging in Switsemalph because there are few bike lanes, and there are a good number of elevation changes.
