People who prefer a slower-paced ambience will enjoy Tangier. Tangier is reasonably quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Driving is a great mode of transportation in this community. It is very convenient to park. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of Halifax are located in places that are not very well-suited for pedestrians because almost no daily errands can be run without a vehicle. Bicycling is also very hard in this community because there are a fair number of hills, and the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive.

A vehicle is almost always required in this part of the municipality to reach the closest supermarket. In terms of education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Tangier. Likewise, it can be very hard to access daycares from homes for sale in this part of the municipality.
