Since there are few people out and about on the streets, Town Centre remains relatively quiet, although noise levels are higher closer to the railway line or Highway 401. Parks are distributed sporadically, making them very hard to reach.
Cars are an excellent mode of transportation in this area. It is very easy to park, and most of the street network is appropriate for driving. This area is also reasonably transit friendly owing to around 10 nearby bus lines. Biking is challenging in this area because there are a fair number of elevation changes, and there are very few bike lanes. There also aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of this area, despite the fact that many daily errands can be run on foot.
The majority of buildings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Town Centre, but townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. About three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters. The homes in this part of the city are quite new, because about one third of its dwellings were built in the 1990s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
Families will welcome the proximity to primary schools, which are within walking distance from the majority of properties for sale in Town Centre. However, this area does not have any high schools. In terms of eating, it is very often feasible for property owners in Town Centre to do groceries by walking. Furthermore, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe just around the corner. It is also easy to access a variety of clothing stores on foot.
