Finally, although University of Alberta is not home to any green spaces, parks are very well-spread out in nearby neighbourhoods, resulting in them being very easy to reach from a large number of locations within the neighbourhood.


This neighbourhood affords home buyers several alternative modes of transportation. University of Alberta is quite transit friendly. For instance, rapid transit stations, such as University Station and Health Sciences / Jubilee Station on the Capital Line and Metro Line, are not very far from the greater part of residences in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is linked by approximately 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is typically very close. It is also convenient for pedestrians to navigate this part of the city; many daily needs are easy to carry out by walking. Bicycling is convenient in University of Alberta as the cycling network is very extensive.


The predominance of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of University of Alberta is an important part of its character. Roughly 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This neighbourhood is particularly good for those looking for one bedroom homes. Renters occupy roughly 95% of the dwellings in University of Alberta and 5% are occupied by owners.


A grocery store is generally reachable within a reasonably short walk from most properties for sale in this neighbourhood. Additionally, University of Alberta is a fairly good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe. As far as education is concerned, daycares and primary schools are convenient to walk to from anywhere in University of Alberta. However, this area does not have any high schools.
