People who prefer a relaxed ambience will enjoy University. Although this neighbourhood does not contain any parks, public green spaces are especially well-spread out in nearby neighbourhoods, making them easy to get to. This part of Winnipeg is also very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Transportation

University is an extremely good part of Winnipeg for driving. Finding a parking spot is quite easy, and most homes for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway. However, this neighbourhood is not particularly transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. University is not very convenient for walking since many daily needs are inconvenient to carry out on foot.

Housing

In University, around 55% of buildings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 80% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. Around half of homes in this neighbourhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 2000s.

Services

Parents and their schoolchildren will appreciate the proximity to secondary schools, which are within walking distance from the majority of homes for sale in University. On the other hand, this part of the city does not have any primary schools. When it comes to food, some, but not all, home buyers in this neighbourhood will live within walking distance of the closest supermarket. Conversely, a coffee shop is often just around the corner, and there are a few restaurants in University.
