Most houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are quite suitable for those who travel by foot, although running common errands is at times difficult by walking. In contrast, the bike is a fairly poor method of transportation in this neighbourhood as the bicycling network is not particularly comprehensive, and riding is rendered strenuous by the typically sloping terrain. Driving is a very good mode of transportation in this area. Parking is easy, and many properties for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway. In contrast, the public transit system in Valley Centre is not particularly convenient. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far from most residences.


In Valley Centre, roughly 45% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, while large apartment buildings, duplexes, and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 60% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder. Roughly 45% of properties in this area were built between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 2000s.


It is a short walk to get to daycares and schools from most houses for sale in this part of District of North Vancouver. Residents have the option of public and private schools at both the elementary and high school level. With respect to eating, the nearest grocery store in this area is typically only a very short walk away. Lynn Valley Road is among the best streets for food stores. Moreover, it is convenient to reach the closest cafe on foot, and there are also approximately 20 restaurants in this part of the municipality. It is also a reasonably short walk to a good variety of clothing stores.
