Village is unique in that it has both vibrant and quiet areas, making it appealing to more people. Even though the ambience is not the liveliest in this part of Ajax with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink since they are generally located very close by. At the same time, most areas in this part of Ajax are reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour, although that is not the case around Highway 401. Public green spaces aren't well-spread out, making them very difficult to reach. Still, there are approximately 10 parks close by for residents to discover, including Hermitage Park.

Traveling on foot is fairly convenient for residents in Village; many daily needs can be carried out without the use of a car, and numerous businesses are moderately close by. This neighbourhood is also rather conducive to cycling. Driving is a great mode of transportation in Village. Parking is quite easy, and it is a short drive to the closest highway, such as Highway 401, from any location in Village. On the other hand, the transit access in this part of the town is not particularly accessible. Nonetheless, residents benefit from the Ajax on the Lakeshore East. The neighbourhood is linked by approximately 10 bus lines, and it is especially convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most properties.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing about 55% of buildings in Village, while large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. Around 45% of homes in this area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the town has a good choice of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and one quarter are renters.

Parents and their children will appreciate the proximity to daycares and schools, which are within walking distance from most, if not all, houses for sale in Village. With regards to food, it is straightforward to reach the nearest supermarket by foot in this part of Ajax. Likewise, Village is a good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe, for example along Kingston Road. It is also convenient to get to a variety of clothing stores on foot.
