Walker is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. This part of Edmonton is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Lastly, getting to parks is easy from most locations in the neighbourhood, since numerous houses have one within walking distance and there are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to relax in.


Walker is very car friendly. It is especially convenient to find a place to park. In contrast, the public transit system in this part of Edmonton is not very accessible. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are usually nearby. Commuting by bicycle is easy in Walker because the cycling network is reasonably comprehensive. Most homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are not very convenient for walking as very few common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.


In Walker, roughly half of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly townhouses. This part of Edmonton experienced its most significant construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. About 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and the rest are renters.


In Walker, families will typically be able to access primary schools by walking. However, there are no high schools in this part of the city. When it comes to food, the nearest grocery store in Walker is usually only a reasonably short walk away. There are also a few options for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes.
