Westview offers an extensive selection of green spaces to enjoy. There are a few parks nearby for residents to discover and they are very well-distributed, resulting in them being very easy to reach from the majority of locations within Westview. Due to the presence of few pedestrians, this neighbourhood remains relatively quiet; however those who are around Trans-Canada Highway may experience more noise.

Transportation

Westview is very car friendly. The majority of real estate listings are a very short car ride from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and it is easy to access a place to park. However, travelling by public transit is challenging in this part of City of North Vancouver. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and it is very easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. Travelling by foot is not very popular in Westview, even though many day-to-day errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. Moving around by bicycle is also very hard in this area as riding is made strenuous by the typically sloping topography, and the cycling network is not very well-developed.

Housing

In Westview, around 30% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, while duplexes, single detached homes, and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Roughly 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 30% are renters. About one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.

Services

A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short walk away in Westview. Likewise, Westview is a good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe. A decent selection of clothing stores can also be found within a rather short walking distance. In terms of education, parents and their schoolchildren will find that no matter where their home is situated in this area, daycares and schools are nearby.
