Yorkville is a great neighbourhood for those who enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. Finding things to do in this part of the city is very easy. There is a great variety of entertainment venues, there are masses of people around most of the time, and places to go out at night are well-distributed throughout the area. Cumberland Street in particular offers a broad selection of nightlife. The greenery in this area is not especially prominent; to be more precise, residents will find that few tree-lined streets are present. On the other hand, cars are a fairly poor mode of transportation in Yorkville. That being said, it is a reasonably short drive to the closest highway from anywhere in Yorkville.
Housing
The substantial percentage of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of Yorkville is an important part of its character. This part of Toronto is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes. The split between renters and homeowners is about even. The buildings in this neighbourhood are quite new, since around 45% of its dwellings were constructed following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
