about.serving
Born and raised in Truro, Debbie has spent equal time living in the Truro region and in the Annapolis Valley – enough to say that both areas are ‘home’ to her. A graduate of Acadia University with Arts & Education degrees, Debbie has a diversified work history including jaunts in the education field, the wholesale book industry, as a small business owner/operator, as executive director of Alumni Affairs for Acadia University, and others but her focus over the last 25 years has been community development. Stemming from an extensive community volunteer experience, Debbie’s passion for community development on many levels has involved her in diversified projects throughout the Town of Truro as Executive Director of the Downtown Truro Partnership and the Town of Berwick as Director of Community Development & Recreation. Close to Debbie’s heart are her daughter and son, their spouses and her 5 grandchildren, all of whom live in Valley. Having recently returned to Truro to live and work, one of the most important benefits is that the move brings her closer to her family, and to her many friends throughout the region. Debbie’s interests also include renovating older homes. Having completed a large number of renovations of her own, and having an appreciation for properties of all sizes, ages and styles, Debbie has always been keenly interested in the real estate market. At this stage in her career, Debbie is excited about finally being able to work in the field and is looking forward to being able to assist others with their home ownership needs.
