I love where I live! I am born and raised in the east end and I have been an Upper Beach resident for 15 years now. During that time, my wife and I had the most beautiful little monkey join our household. By monkey, I mean our daughter, Addison. She is now 13, and has me wrapped around her finger. Fiona, my wife of 16 years, is an uber-talented interior designer who has probably designed a few of the places you’ve been to. Then there’s moi! I am Derek Ladouceur, a Realtor here in this amazing community, because quite simply, the Realtor we worked with when selling our previous home and buying our current one, was horrible. We felt that her only interest was in lining her pockets with our money, and nothing more. So, after complaining about it for a few years, I decided to get my real estate license. The rest, as you say, is history. I have been a Realtor for over 11 years now and have lived every part of my life in the east end of the city. I grew up on the Danforth (half Greek guy here), then spent the better part of my 30s in the Monarch Park area. From there, we bought our family home in the Upper Beaches. I have a great understanding of the east end and have literally seen this area go from an afterthought, to an in-demand community with new homes and condos not being built fast enough.
