Old Hamilton is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this part of the city. Even though the atmosphere is not the liveliest in this part of the city, its busier streets are still quite energetic, and with its over 50 nightlife venues, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink since they are generally located around the corner. Those who like going out will enjoy the main streets, including King Street, which will not disappoint. Old Hamilton is reasonably quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic, although there are still several noisier sections, especially closer to one of the 2 airports (Hamilton (Chedoke-McMaster Hospital) Heliport,Hamilton (General Hospital) Heliport), Highway 403, Red Hill Valley Parkway or one of the railway lines. There are over 400 green spaces nearby for residents to relax in, including Bayfront Park and Royal Botanical Gardens, which results in them being very easy to get to from the majority of locations in the former municipality.
