Cummings has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. Cummings is quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue, however some areas can be quite noisy, especially close to Regional Road 174 or Highway 417. On the other hand, parks, including Ken Steele Park and Trillium Park, are especially well-situated and there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to check out, making it very easy to get to them. Lastly, although this part of Ottawa is not known for its vibrancy, its main streets are still quite lively, and with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located around the corner.
