Peterborough is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this city. Although the ambience is not the most lively in this city finding one of the approximately 20 bars is easy since they are generally located close by. Main streets, such as Hunter Street, are very good for those who like going out. Peterborough is quiet overall, as the streets are generally calm, however some parts can be quite loud, especially near the airport (Peterborough (Civic Hospital) Heliport), the railway line or Highway 7 & 115. There are over 150 public green spaces nearby for residents to discover, like Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park and Nichols Oval, and they are very well-distributed, which makes it easy to get to them.
