Alderwood is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this part of Toronto. Alderwood is quiet overall, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic, although that is not the case around one of the railway lines, Queen Elizabeth Way or F G Gardiner Expressway. However, greenery is prominent in this neighbourhood; it is easy to get to public green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 40 of them nearby for residents to explore. Furthermore, residents will find that most streets have fairly good tree coverage. Finally, although this part of Toronto is not known for its lively atmosphere, finding one of the a few nightlife venues is very easy because they are generally situated in very convenient locations.
