The character of West Rouge is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Most areas in this part of Toronto are reasonably quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder sections, especially near the railway line or Highway 401. Lastly, the greenery in this area is prominent; it is very easy to get to parks in the neighbourhood since there are about 40 of them close by for residents to check out. Residents will also find that a lot of streets have fairly good tree coverage.
