Old East York has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Old East York is quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic, although that is not the case around Don Valley Parkway. However, there is a good amount of greenery in this neighbourhood; there are over 50 parks nearby for residents to explore, like E. T. Seton Park and Lower Don Parklands, and they are very well-spread out, which makes them very easy to access from many locations within Old East York. In addition, residents will find that there are numerous tree-lined streets. Finally, even though this part of Toronto is not known for its vibrancy, its main streets are still quite lively, and with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located a short distance away. Donlands Avenue in particular offers a wide selection of places to go out at night.
